Many species of reptiles and amphibians found in the Fynbos Biome are endemic and threatened.
The Geometric tortoise is the rarest of the tent tortoise species endemic to Southern Africa and is the second rarest tortoise in the world.
The Cape is home to more than half of South Africa’s frog species’. There are approximately 62 species found in the Fynbos, 29 of which are endemic.
